Hi, may I know what does the word 3/4 as many apples means? Does it mean whatever amount Katie had, Caroline had 3/4? Thanks a lot.

This means that Katie had 3 units of apple and Caroline had 4 units of apple. It does not mean that whatever amount Katie had, Caroline had 3/4. Hope this helps you in better understanding the qn.
